Rolf-Dieter Heuer calls for ‘plainer language and shorter documents’ to reach public

Rolf-Dieter Heuer, the chair of the European Commission’s Group of Chief Scientific Advisors, has said he wants the group to increase the frequency and accessibility of its advice.

“I would like to enable the group to provide advice on more topics, more regularly, while retaining the high quality that has been the hallmark of our work to date,” Heuer wrote in his foreword to a report summarising the group’s work since it was established in 2015, which was published on 5 February.
