Ministerial meeting to consider mobility, code of conduct and role of European Universities Initiative

The first meeting of research ministers under the January-June Portuguese presidency of the Council of the EU will focus on researchers’ careers, Portugal’s minister for science, technology and higher education Manuel Heitor has said.

In a hearing with the European Parliament’s research committee on 28 January, Heitor said the informal meeting of EU research ministers on 2 February would discuss monitoring researcher mobility, a new EU code of conduct for researchers and the use of the European Universities Initiative for cross-border institutional collaboration as a “testbed” for career policies.
