‘Transition forum’ will shape EU R&D priorities and draft intergovernmental pact for research
The European Commission has launched a new governance and policymaking body for R&D—the European Research Area Forum for Transition—which will bring together representatives of EU member states to shape the bloc’s R&D priorities.
The Commission-led body, launched on 4 February, was described in the Commission’s September 2020 plan for the European Research Area—a suite of policies to enable the free flow of knowledge and raise research standards—as a structure to “help focus” the “process” behind the ERA.
