Commission admits problems with cooperation negotiations while quietly removing online comments about progress

Efforts by the EU to secure Chinese commitments to fairness in innovation and scientific integrity are stymieing cooperation talks between the bloc and China, a European Commission official has said.

The comments by Maria Cristina Russo, the Commission’s top official for international R&D collaboration, came as the institution quietly altered its official statement on the negotiations with China, scrubbing out details about differences between the two sides.
