Funding schemes will channel tens of billions of euros into regional research and innovation
EU ambassadors have approved the legislation underpinning the bloc’s 2021-27 cohesion funding schemes, which will channel tens of billions of euros into research and innovation, alongside other activities to boost poorer regions.
The Council of the EU’s ambassadorial approval, announced on 3 March, means that only a final vote from the European Parliament is needed before the €330 billion package becomes law.
