Commission calls for closer exchanges between decision makers and scientists

EU member states need to better connect their scientific and policymaking communities to help ensure political decisions are based on the best available evidence, according to the European Commission and its Joint Research Centre evidence service.

The JRC said on 26 October that scientific knowledge can help policymakers understand problems and assess options for dealing with “complex issues” such as the Covid-19 pandemic.
