Data and dialogue needed in crises, science council says

           

Swiss Science Council applies lessons from Covid-19 to the evidence-informed management of future emergencies

Data sharing and ensuring ample opportunity for discussion are among the actions needed to ensure public support for an evidence-informed political response to crises, according to a science advisory body to Switzerland’s Federal Council.

“Today’s crises cannot be addressed without a data-driven, rational approach,” the Swiss Science Council said in a report published on 29 August, which set out lessons learned from the Covid-19 pandemic.
