Jean-Eric Paquet looks back on his time as the Commission’s top research and innovation official
There are two sides to Jean-Eric Paquet’s career. The first is policy: he moved through coordination roles and various transport jobs across the European Commission before becoming its top official for research and innovation in 2018.
The other side, he tells Research Europe, can broadly be described as “external relations”, including serving for three years as the EU’s ambassador to Mauritania.
