EU Council seeks closer R&D ties with Latin America and Caribbean

       

Research and innovation are critical “for addressing common challenges”, EU member state governments decide

Research and innovation will be a key part of measures to foster closer ties between the EU and Latin American and Caribbean countries, the Council of the EU member state governments has decided.

On 21 November, the Council approved a set of conclusions on relations between the regions, which recognised “the critical role of research and innovation for addressing common challenges” such as environmental sustainability, digitisation and global health.
