Loss of momentum feared in the wake of research commissioner Mariya Gabriel’s early departure

Mariya Gabriel’s resignation as EU commissioner for research, innovation and education has led to the splitting of her responsibilities, and fears that research may suffer as a result.

Gabriel left her EU post on 15 May to co-lead a coalition government in Bulgaria.
