What Europe’s research world is likely to see over the next 12 months

At some point in 2024, more than half the world’s population will be able to go to the polls in what is set to be the biggest year for voting in history. In Brussels, the coming months will hinge around European elections taking place in June, even while Belgium prepares for its own election in that same month.

This brings the potential for power shifts in the European Parliament and the possibility of a new European Commission president. But many expect a calmer time for research policy.
