Fund investing more than €47 billion in research and innovation in EU member states

The EU’s Covid-19 recovery fund is “bringing real results”, including the investment of more than €47 billion in research and innovation, according to a midterm evaluation of the scheme.

With a total budget of €800bn, the Next Generation EU fund and its Recovery and Resilience Facility use a combination of grants and loans facilitated by EU-level borrowing to support investment and reform in EU member states.
