Commission says EU raised academic freedom with China

Representatives at dialogue on education express hope China will “reverse current trends”

The European Commission has said that EU representatives raised concerns around academic freedom in China with counterparts from the country during talks in Beijing late last month.

The High-Level People-to-People Dialogue brought together stakeholders in education, culture, youth and sport on 29 March. Research and education commissioner Iliana Ivanova (pictured front, third from left) represented the EU.
