EU and Japan agree to work together on advanced materials

Agreement is intended to bolster sectors including clean technologies and semiconductors

The EU and Japan have agreed to work together on research into advanced materials, by pursuing opportunities for collaboration and exchanging information on relevant policies.

Advanced materials have special properties that make them important for technologies central to environmental sustainability and digitisation, such as in batteries, zero-emission buildings, semiconductors, and renewable energy generation.
