Sabine Verheyen hopes to keep pushing education up the agenda after the upcoming European elections

Ahead of the European elections in June, Sabine Verheyen appears optimistic. While not taking her re-election for granted, the German MEP talks about her intention to keep pressing ahead with education issues she has been championing in the European Parliament.

She has been a member of the Committee for Culture and Education since being first elected in 2009, and the committee’s chair since 2019. Her motivation for encouraging investment in education comes from the fact that her parents were unable to access university following the Second World War: “They always told us the most important thing you can get is a good education.”
