The European Patent Office has announced the extension of its patent agreement with India.
The EPO and the Intellectual Property Office of India will collaborate for at least another four years, the patent office said in 7 November statement.
Benoît Battistelli, president of EPO, said that this agreement will help European entrepreneurs to better protect their inventions in India and be less concerned about exporting their products to the country. Every year, the Indian Patent Office receives about 12,000 applications from Europeans, the EPO said.
