Parliament looks set to crack down on digital copyright

The European Parliament may seek tougher restrictions on the way that researchers in the EU use data and share academic papers.

MEPs are in the process of agreeing their position on a copyright proposal made by the European Commission in 2016. The proposal aims to update EU copyright laws for the digital age, but some people fear that parts of it could hamper research and innovation.
