Bernhard Url will serve a second term as executive director of the European Food Safety Authority.
Url was reappointed by Efsa’s management board and will begin his second term on 1 June 2019, the agency announced on 12 December. He first joined Efsa as director of risk assessment and scientific assistance in 2012, and began his first mandate as executive director in June 2014.
“I look forward to continuing the close collaboration with our staff and scientific experts, EU institutions and sister agencies, member state and international partners, and stakeholders to uphold Efsa’s core values and to embrace new challenges,” he said in a statement.
