European Commission ‘must remove regulatory barriers’ in energy storage and minimise chemical hazards, MEPs say
MEPs have called on the European Commission and EU member states to support the development of energy storage technologies and hydrogen energy sources to help Europe tackle climate change.
In a report adopted on 29 June, the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy called for continued support for R&D to reduce the cost of clean hydrogen, and for the Commission to “remove regulatory barriers that hamper the development of energy storage projects”, including tax barriers.
