Universities warn of ‘serious’ problems with EU’s AI regulation

Views of research actors on artificial intelligence must not be overlooked, says The Guild

Planned EU regulation of artificial intelligence could harm research in a similar way to the bloc’s far-reaching data laws, a group of universities has warned.

The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities said in a statement on 14 December that crucial views of researchers were in danger of being overlooked as the EU moves to regulate AI.
