Science set to underpin EU nature restoration plans

        

Proposed regulation calls for national monitoring of restoration and EU-level tracking

A new law proposed by the European Commission would require EU member states to develop science-based national plans for nature restoration and tracking of their progress.

Setting out its proposal on 22 June, the Commission said the plans for 2030 should be created together with scientists, stakeholders and members of the public.
