European medical funders falling short of best practice, study finds

                    

But at least one funder, France’s CNRS, disputes the findings

Some European funders of medical research are failing to adopt World Health Organization best practices in their support for clinical trials, a study has found.

The study, published on 1 August in the journal Jama Network Open, reported that on average only four of 11 WHO best practices for trial transparency are being adopted by the 21 largest non-multilateral public and philanthropic medical research funders in Europe.
