GM researchers deny failing to disclose conflicts of interest

             

MEPs’ report claims researchers seeking reform of GM laws were not transparent over financial interests

Researchers advocating that the EU update its regulation of genetic modification have denied allegations that they failed to properly disclose conflicts of interest.

In recent years, with the invention of genetic manipulation techniques such as Crispr/Cas, many researchers and politicians have said the EU’s decades-old laws on growing and selling genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are in need of revision.
