G7 adopts guiding principles on developing AI

                               

Leading economies call on academia and industry to prioritise research and global challenges

The G7 group of leading global economies has adopted a set of principles and a code of conduct for developers of artificial intelligence systems, calling on them to prioritise research and tackle global challenges.

Adopted on 30 October, the 11 principles outline ways to mitigate the risks of AI while taking advantage of the innovative possibilities presented by advanced systems such as foundation models and generative AI, of which ChatGPT is a prominent example.
