Council of the EU approves “ground-breaking law” on safe and trustworthy artificial intelligence

The EU has effectively signed off on new legislation to regulate the development and use of artificial intelligence in the bloc.

On 21 May, the Council of the EU member state governments announced that it had “approved a ground-breaking law aiming to harmonise rules on AI”.
