Innovation should be central in next year’s research bill, says Vinnova

Innovation should be the central tenet of a research bill due to be published next year, according to a submission to a consultation on the bill published on 5 December by innovation agency Vinnova.

In its submission, Vinnova outlines six areas which it believes the government should focus on. These are: a strategic innovation programme; a fully developed knowledge triangle (the link between education, research and innovation); a national EU strategy for research and innovation; initiatives to increase innovation in SMEs and initiatives to increase both experimental development and commercialisation.
