The European Spallation Source under construction in Lund and the Institute Laue-Langevin in France have signed a deal to cooperate on instrument and software development.
The institutes want to use their resources more efficiently through closer collaboration, the ESS said in a statement. Areas covered by a memorandum of understanding include neutron-scattering instrumentation and beam components.
The memorandum was signed by ESS director-general John Womersley and ILL director Helmut Schober on 20 June.
