The Forte research council has awarded 302 million Swedish kronor (€32.5m) to projects in health, working life and welfare.
Of the 89 funded projects, 18 are junior research grants—an all-time high, the council said in a statement on 27 September. Funding for early-career researchers will amount to kr71.7m over four years. Twelve of the grants went to women, and six went to men.
“We are happy to see the increasing interest for our research fields among young researchers and that we are able to fund as many as 18 junior researchers this year,” said Cecilia Beskow, head of research and Evaluation at Forte.
