Academies call for ethics training

Ethics education for researchers must be improved and integrated into general training, the European Federation of All European Academies (Allea) has said.

In a report released on 10 October, the group makes a series of recommendations, including that all institutions establish better graduate and doctoral training in research ethics. It is particularly important to educate early-career researchers, the report states.

Institutions must set aside time and create resources to improve researchers’ understanding of ethics, the report recommends, adding that such resources must be continually revised and updated.
