Drug project gets facility status

A Netherlands-based drug development consortium has become the third facility to be designated part of the European Research Infrastructure Consortium by the European Commission.

The European Advanced Translational Research Infrastructure in Medicine, which provides researchers with access to other institutes and support facilities, is the first biomedical facility to be granted the award. The infrastructure, which has its headquarters at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam, links a total of 60 academic institutions across Europe and also offers advice on legal and regulatory aspects of drug development.

The member states that have signed up to the Eatris Eric framework are the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Italy, the Netherlands and Finland. France and Spain will participate as observers, according to the Commission announcement.
