Hefty tome compiled to feed into updated European strategy
More than 100 particle physicists have co-authored a 250-page book summarising the state of their field. The effort is part of the work to update the European Strategy for Particle Physics—a direction-setting document produced by Europe’s particle physics laboratory Cern in collaboration with colleagues around the world.
The book, published on 30 September, is the result of “an intense year-long effort to capture the status and prospects for experiment, theory, accelerators and computing for high-energy physics”, according to Cern. It will inform final discussions on a strategy update that is due to take place next year.
