More Anglo-German university deals expected amid Brexit angst

At least two further partnerships between universities in Germany and the UK look set to be announced, as institutions seek to bolster ties in the face of Brexit uncertainty.

Georg Krawietz, director of the German Academic Exchange Service’s London office, told Research Europe he was aware of more partnerships in the pipeline.

Krawietz hosted a talk between the heads of the Technical University of Munich and Imperial College London on 18 June. The two technical universities announced a deepening of their ongoing partnership at the event. They have plans to offer co-supervised PhD programmes, joint faculty appointments and mutual access to their on-campus innovation incubators.
