Universities stress need for more sustainable funding

EU needs long-term financing for higher education, technical university network says

The Cesaer group of European universities of science and technology has called on governments to ensure a strong and steady flow of funding into academia, if universities are to support ambitious EU goals.

In a position paper published on 16 March, the network said that EU and national administrations must balance competitive and block grant funding and should develop a shared evidence base to do so.
