Alexander Stubb says he wants to help politicians and academics learn from each other

The European University Institute, a centre for doctoral and postdoctoral studies and research into politics, economics, law and history, has appointed former Finnish prime minister Alexander Stubb as director of its School of Transnational Governance.

Stubb, who also held ministerial posts in finance, foreign and European affairs, and trade, said that he will aim “to bring together all the expertise from government, academia, civil society, companies and journalism to solve the most pressing challenges of the day”.
