EU not doing enough on AI skills, says think-tank

Underperformance could be hampering business growth, experts warn

The EU is falling further behind global competitors in equipping people with qualifications in artificial intelligence, and this could be undermining its productivity growth, according to researchers from the think-tank Bruegel.

“However intelligent artificial intelligence might be, it still relies on qualified humans, of which there is a notable lack in the EU,” Bruegel research assistant Julia Anderson, intern Paco Viry and director Guntram Wolff said in a 27 August blog post.
