EU member states should ‘find co-funding’ for cooperation networks, according to draft policy text
EU member state governments are set to say that substantially more funding is needed for the ‘European Universities’—cross-border networks of universities collaborating on research and education, which are gaining prominence in the bloc’s policymaking and funding allocations.
“To reach the initiative’s very ambitious goals, a significantly higher funding per alliance will be necessary,” say draft conclusions from the Council of the EU dated 4 February, seen by Research Professional News. The Council is the body through which EU member state governments direct the bloc’s legislation and policymaking.
