Call for more interdisciplinary research support

  

European universities and funders ask policymakers to create new instruments for collaboration

European research organisations have called on policymakers to provide more support for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research, saying this kind of research is needed to tackle societal challenges but lacks funding.

The call was made by Science Europe, which is an association of research funders and performers, and three university groups: the European University Association, the Cesaer group of science and technology universities and Unica, which brings together institutions in capital cities.
