French plan also broadens responsibility for reform to researchers at all career stages

A draft text detailing EU governments’ views on the bloc’s initiative to reform how researchers are assessed has been revised to increase its focus on open science—the opening up of research methods and results for scrutiny and reuse.

The draft from the French presidency of the Council of the EU will ultimately become the means by which governments feed into the process for shaping an agreement on assessment reforms that is being drafted by stakeholders and coordinated by the European Commission.
