Research-assessment reform plan launches with 51 signatories

Backers include nuclear physics organisation Cern and Germany’s main public research funder

The EU-led agreement on reforming research assessment has formally opened for organisations to sign their commitment, with 51 signatories announced to coincide with the launch.

Coordinated by the European Commission, the agreement has been drawn up as a way for research organisations to commit to improving how they assess institutions, projects and researchers, by making assessment fairer and more reflective of the breadth of research roles and outputs.
