PhD researchers push for more recognition and support

              

Eurodoc group says doctoral candidates must be “regarded and treated as professionals”

Europe’s PhD students and junior researchers have demanded more recognition as research professionals, as well as action to address the precarity of their working conditions.

The Eurodoc federation of more than 25 national organisations of doctoral students and junior researchers stressed that “doctoral education is a research education and doctoral candidates are researchers”.
