Command-and-control style of leadership should be used “sparingly”, EU-funded study suggests

Various leadership styles “have their place” in higher education, but authoritarian approaches should generally be avoided, a study has suggested.

The analysis from the EU-funded Newlead project—which is looking into challenges faced by university bosses—focused on 10 leadership styles, while acknowledging that many more exist.
