University group says dedicated funding should be avoided as EU plans ‘investment pathway’ for collaborations

The EU should not dedicate funding from its research and innovation programme to the alliances formed under the European Universities Initiative, a university group has said.

The European Commission is working on an “investment pathway” to sustain the alliances formed through the EUI scheme, which financially supports cross-border collaboration among universities on education and research initiatives such as joint campuses and courses.
