Improving research careers in Europe is a shared responsibility across government and among employers, according to speakers at the European Commission Research and Innovation Days conference.

The EU is working on improving research careers in various ways at present, including through its European Research Area policy package, in recognition that younger researchers in particular have been struggling with low pay and job insecurity.
