Plan for higher education careers recommends “nothing new”, says minister turned adviser

The former Portuguese science minister Manuel Heitor, who has been pushing the EU to improve working conditions for academics, has slammed the European Commission’s recent proposal for improving careers in higher education.

Published late last month, the proposal recommends “nothing new”, Heitor (pictured) told Research Professional News, calling on the Commission to “speed up and act”.
