Universities welcome plans for policy lab and forum to involve stakeholders, but await national commitments
Higher education organisations have welcomed European Commission plans to facilitate joint European degrees, but want to see how committed the EU member states are in engaging with their implementation.
Presenting its plans for facilitating cross-border European degrees last month, the Commission said that transnational education is becoming a “necessity” in an increasingly globalised world. But delivering it will require member states to overcome differences in degree accreditation requirements, with the interest of governments in the voluntary proposals yet to be seen.
