New form of EU engagement could offer fresh hope for research
Ursula von der Leyen did not say much about research directly in her annual State of the Union address this month, but implications for the sector were there between the lines.
In particular, the European Commission president expressed support for a European Political Community—the idea put forward by France’s president Emmanuel Macron to “foster political dialogue and cooperation to address issues of common interest” between the EU and European countries outside the bloc.
