Open to the world?

It’s not too late to make Horizon Europe a truly international programme

It seems a long time ago that Europe had a research commissioner who could proudly claim that the priorities for their policy area were “open science, open innovation and open to the world”. That was Carlos Moedas, in 2015. A lot has happened since then.

The Covid-19 pandemic showed that the world needs to pull together to tackle global challenges. Researchers must be able to share information and resources rapidly across national boundaries to play their part in this, as such exchanges strengthen and speed up research.
