Amid news that the EU is now ready to open talks with Switzerland on association to the bloc’s research and innovation programme (see cover), the European Commission has also announced that it is making a recommendation to national leaders in the European Council that they should open negotiations on Bosnia and Herzegovina joining the bloc.
