The University of Waikato is to launch a research centre focusing on environmental law.
The Centre for Environmental, Resources and Energy Law will be launched at three events between 29 November and 1 December 2011.
The centre will be responsible for providing interdisciplinary research to councils, government departments, community groups and international agencies.
According to Barry Barton, the founding director, the centre will focus on water, energy efficiency, petroleum and minerals, indigenous environmental governance, coastal and marine environment, and international environmental law.
