Sir David Skegg, a cancer scientist, former vice-chancellor of the University of Otago and chair of the New Zealand medical research council, will be the next president of the Royal Society of New Zealand, the Society said on 12 March.
The society comprises more than 1,200 individual members, over 370 elected fellows and 56 honorary fellows.
